Sail Carpe Diem

The Sailboat

The Carpe Diem is a 2013 Beneteau Oceanis 45, and is very well equipped for your cruising comfort:
  • Wood decks and cockpit sole
  • Generator, inverter, and air conditioning
  • Bow thrusters
  • Three cabins with double beds and dining settee that converts to a double bed
  • Two head compartments with stall showers
  • Electric refrigerator, freezer, and microwave
  • Hot water supplied to the shower on the transom, which folds down into a swim platform at the push of a button
  • 26″ flat panel TV, complete entertainment system. Full electronics, including radar and autopilot
  • In-mast mainsail furling, and three electric winches

The Carpe Diem is in the fleet at Annapolis Bay Charters, in operation since 1980 and a member of Dream Yacht Charters. It was introduced at the Annapolis Sailboat Show in October of 2012.

The Chesapeake

The Chesapeake has 5,000 miles of coastline, with options that range from anchoring in a secluded cove or visiting historic St. Michaels on the eastern shore to a stop in the bustling inner harbor of Baltimore. Cruising out of the Back Bay in Annapolis is ideal, and the Carpe Diem is the perfect yacht for your sailing vacation.

About the Owners

Ellen and I sailed the BVI on a chartered Gulfstar 37 for our honeymoon in 1977.  Later that year, we attended the Annapolis Boat Show and imagined owning a sailboat someday. In 1988, we bought our first Beneteau, an Oceanis 340 called Big Bear Hug. Two years later, we moved up to an Oceanis 430, our first Carpe Diem, on Lake Michigan. Now we are looking forward to sailing the Chesapeake and sharing our boat through Annapolis Bay Charters.

  1. This web site is great.

    • Mark, Thanks. Sorry to hear about the stock price, but you could take your mind off business and sail the Chesapeake on our new boat for a very reasonable price.

  6. My brother in law, Wayne Hall, said he met you at a party and gave us your contact information. We’re in Rio Dulce, Guatemala and we’re thinking about heading back north toward the East Coast of the US after hurricane season. We plan to cruise slowly north until the weather starts warming up in spring. My email address is jimmybluew@gmail.com.
